Who am I?
I’m Sophie! (By the way, my last name is pronounced BROTE [like GOAT]-mar-cull. It’s German for breadmaker. My name is literally Wisdom Baker.)
I’m from Virginia Beach, Virginia, and am one of the few military kids who never had to move while growing up. I graduated from East Carolina University with a BA in Theatre Arts and a minor in Creative Writing. At ECU, I found my passion in writing and comedic improvisation; which I hope to hone in life. My dream job would be to write for a sitcom. I perform improvisational comedy regularly at Push Comedy Theater in Norfolk, Virginia! You can see me the first and last Friday of each month in the GirlProv (long form improv) and Improv Riot (short form improv) shows respectively!
I am interested in work written by and for female identifying folk and produced a play called: I’m Scared of Whales, Bad Drivers, and Nobody Knowing My Name, that scratched the surface of my fears and hopes in life. Additionally, I have had three short stories published in The Lookout: A Journal of Undergraduate Research at ECU, v11.1.
I love to play chess (I have nine sets), listening to classical/instrumental music (never give me the AUX cord in the car) and hanging out with my four cats in Virginia Beach (Ginger, Pepper, Basil, and Clove, or, The Spice Cats). I can quote The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to an obscene degree and one of my biggest brags is that I’ve read War and Peace. Thanks for stopping by! (Good luck guessing my favorite color!)

I know the periodic table by heart as well as the 1989 version of The Little Mermaid. I can also lick my elbow!
